A New Resource Management Exhibit for Zion’s Museum
Inside Zion National Park’s Human History Museum, you will find displays featuring the history of the people who inhabited the canyon, including those of the Indigenous people who first traversed the canyon up through the Mormon Pioneers.
One of the pieces of information missing is interactive storytelling sharing the multitude of natural resources that make Zion National Park a unique site, and how they have been managed throughout different periods by the people in the park. This project, A New Resource Management Exhibit for Zion’s Museum, will support a yearlong discovery and design period for museum technicians to compile information regarding the historic and modern natural resource management and use in Zion National Park.
Once completed, this mixed media exhibit, featuring information panels, archival artifacts, and interactive components, will be on display at Zion National Park’s Human History Museum and avaible online for visitors and interested audiences to engage with the natural resources and their management in Zion National Park. This exhibit is also designed to allow it to travel to other sites in the region, sharing the history and management practices of the natural resources found in Zion National Park with other park sites or museums in the area.
A New Resource Management Exhibit for Zion’s Museum ensures that the stories tied to the resource management of Zion National Park are shared for years to come. Your support ensures that the history of the park is preserved for future generations.
