Zion is beautiful, but it’s hard with dogs. They had signs saying park here, which was a mile or two out from the entrance, and take the shuttle in. But you can’t take with dogs. There’s also a big loop that the shuttle goes to, but again the shuttle doesn’t allow dogs. There’s only one paved trail that you can take dogs on. We were able to get a place to park so we could leave our dogs in the truck as it was a cool day. Then went to the visitor center. The turnouts to pull over and take pictures, compared to Arches, are very small. And Arches has nice picnic areas that Zion does not. If you just want to drive through it’s perfect. But if you want to stop and take pictures along the way, it’s difficult. Arches was much more conducive to that. But even with these comparisons to arches, Zion is a place not to be missed.
