Cedar Mountain Wildflowers
July 9, 2012

One of the advantages of living in southern Utah is the fact that our range of elevations insures that wildflower season runs from March through September. Escape the heat of the lower elevations as botanist Walt Fertig takes us on a wildflower tour that starts in Cedar City and culminates at the alpine environment of Brian Head Peak . A highlight of this tour will be our stop in Cedar Breaks National Monument during their annual Wildflower Festival. Not only will we get to see some beautiful wildflowers, but we’ll make several stops along the way and look at the changes in plant communities as we work our way up Cedar Mountain . Watch the transition as every 1,000 feet or so as we pass through a different life zone! Limited to 10 participants.

Fee: $60
Instructor: Walt Fertig
Ages: 16 years and up
