Basic Plant Identification

The course will focus on the fundamentals of plant morphology and recognition of diagnostic characteristics of the major plant families. Much of the day will be spent in the field in Zion National Park applying plant identification basics to the more common or showy species. Bring lunch, comfortable hiking shoes, and a hand lens or magnifying glass if possible. Instructional materials will be provided as part of the course fee.
