Children 6 to 12 years old can earn a Junior Ranger badge by completing an activity booklet during their visit to Zion National Park. Booklets are available at the visitor centers and museum year-round at a cost of $1.00.
Want to enhance your children's visit as they work toward a Zion Junior Ranger badge? Spend part of your morning joining a Ranger for a special Ranger-guided program geared for children 6 to 12 years old.

Children under 6 years old can earn a decal by completing an activity sheet available at the Zion Canyon Visitor Center and the Human History Museum year-round.
RANGER LED KIDS PROGRAM
WHO
These summer programs are developed especially for children 6 to 12 years of age.
WHAT
Children will learn about Zion National Park and the natural world through hands-on activities, hikes, and lessons designed especially for them. Check at the visitor centers and Zion Lodge for program topics. Allow time for driving or walking to the Nature Center. Programs are free of charge.
WHEN
Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. The kids only Explorer Program is from 9:00 to 11:30am daily. The family oriented Discovery Program is offered at 1:30-3:00pm daily. Parent or guardian must attend the afternoon program.
WHERE
The programs are held at the Zion Nature Center, next to South Campground. There is no shuttle stop at this location. Parking is available and it is a 10 minute walk from the Visitor Center or Museum.
WEAR
Many activities are outside, so dress comfortably and appropriately for outdoor activities. Please bring water. Hats and sun-screen are good on hot, sunny days and rain gear if the weather looks stormy.
PARENTS
A parent or guardian must accompany children for the afternoon Discovery Program.
The Zion Natural History Association provides additional funding for this program.
