School Field Trips

(3 hours)
What is cryptobiotic soil? Are ringtail cats really cats? Is desert varnish alive? Find the answers to these questions and more. This is educational adventure at its best with engaging instructors and a magnificent natural setting. Our field trips are designed to provide students with an overview of the geology and natural resources of Zion as well as the role of humans in the ecosystem and environment. Topics covered depend on the age of students and may include: biological diversity, classification of organisms, characteristics of ecosystems, geologic processes, hydrological processes and careers in the sciences. Classes are held outside and do include moderate hikes along the park’s beautiful trail. Most field trips last around three hours (however they may be longer to accommodate your time frame) and are designed to fit your schedule. You provide the eager students and we provide the naturalist.
These trips are perfect for public and private schools, scouting groups, home schoolers, and others who are interested in making learning fun in a non traditional setting.
Fee: $10 per student (teachers are free)
All ages. Various instructors.
Bring your own lunches and picnic in the park.

Price: US $12.00
